The VET4Youth project aims to empower young people in their effort to find formal, dissent and prosperous jobs – and through the enhancement of their employability to get empowered. Capitalizing on the long history of intercultural and economic bonds between the European Union and the SEMED region, the VET4Youth project will focus on building the capacity of the VET sector in Egypt, Lebanon and Jordan with a view to digital and green innovation on teaching and learning.
The project serves as a response to the emerging twin transition of the local economies in line with national, regional and EU strategic priorities and Erasmus+ thematic areas of green growth, digital transformation and social inclusion.
The project ‘s objectives can be identified as the following:
- to design a VET and region-specific strategy for the development of VET learners’ digital and green skills to prepare them for the twin transition
- to enhance the internationalization of local VET institutes and build their capacity through the organization of a study visit in Greece and virtual exchanges and an upskilling training to their trainers
- to improve learners’ digital and green skillset and enhance their employability through the development of a state-of-the-art Curriculum
- to establish a direct collaboration between local VET institutes and labour market representatives
- to raise awareness on the importance of twin skills for a smoother transformation of the local labour markets
During its 36-month lifetime, VET4YOUTH will directly and indirectly positively impact:
- 30 VET trainers,
- 180 VET learners will be trained,
- 60 businesses will be registered in the collaboration platform and
