ROMANSE

Young Roma Women Social Entrepreneurship

The aim of the ROMANSE project is to:

  • build the Capacity and empower Roma, Youth Roma and Pro Roma CSOs [small grassroots CSOs] in terms of developing social entrepreneurship of young Roma women.
  • build the skills, empower, offer support and mentoring young Roma Women in social entrepreneurship to start-up, establish, manage, or expand their social businesses.
  • support small grassroots Roma, Youth Roma, Pro Roma CSOs through financial support (Grant Scheme) to enable them to support/promote the empowerment of young Roma women for the creation and operation of SEs.
  • boost the limited networking and cooperation of Roma/Pro-Roma and Youth CSOs with local/regional public authorities and institutions, local business support organizations, social enterprises, and/or other relevant local actors for the development of measures that will promote social entrepreneurship of young Roma women.

During its 36-month lifetime, ROMANSE will directly and indirectly positively impact:

  • At least 15 smaller/grassroots Roma-led/Pro-Roma and youth CSOs (working in the field of entrepreneurship and/or support of vulnerable youth). 8 of these CSOs will also be financially (and technically) supported to enhance their limited financial/operational capacities, in order to implement local activities directly targeting young Roma women.
  • At least 120 young Roma women (aged 18-29) in 10 localities will be supported by the action through training, provision of information, and mentoring support, as well as awareness raising, in order to enhance their low motivation and interest in social entrepreneurship, and to develop their lacking start-up and other relevant soft skills (poor financial literacy, lack of work ethics etc.), as well as low access to tailored requalification/adult training opportunities.
  • At least 60 local/regional public authorities and institutions, existing SEs, local business support organizations and/or other relevant local actors will also be targeted in the 10 localities to strengthen their low levels of cooperation with CSOs for the design of more effective measures promoting the labour market integration and social entrepreneurship of young Roma women in alignment with local labour markets’ needs.
  • The local communities (incl. Roma) in 10 localities (10.000+ persons).
