Publication of Protocols and Guidelines for the InSupport Project

Within the framework of the project InSupport – Enhancing interagency support for victims of sexual violence”, the following deliverables were published:

  • Protocol for addressing sexual violence by the Greek Police
  • Protocol for Healthcare Professionals and Services
  • Guidelines for the creation of referral structures for victims of sexual violence

The project is funded by the European Union (CERV program) and aims to strengthen the protection and support of survivors/victims of sexual violence in Greece. It started in March 2025 and will be completed in February 2027.

Specifically, the project aims to:

  1. Enhance interagency cooperation on supporting victims of sexual violence, through the establishment of an interagency response mechanism.
  1. Enhance victim response and support procedures of law-enforcement and frontline services, through the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  2. Strengthen the skills of (at least 1.320) law-enforcement and frontline professionals on sexual violence/rape issues and gender-sensitive victim support, through capacity building.
  1. Raise the awareness and access to information of women victims of sexual violence/rape about their rights and the support that is available

To this end, the project partners Symplexis (Project Coordinator), Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI), Metropolitan College, ISON Psychometrica, Center for Security Studies, and the Hellenic Police have already finalized the Protocol of interagency cooperation between relevant stakeholders for the support of survivors/victims of sexual violence and have put into operation the interagency response mechanism.

Furthermore, by the end of the program, a series of training activities will be carried out with the participation of at least 1,320 front-line professionals.
