The DIODOS project targets workers from the automotive sector and related supply chains affected by restructuring and technological transition in Greece and Italy. It focuses on securing new employment for 6 months through structured skills mapping, certified reskilling, and direct job placement in strategic and growing sectors.

Particularly, the DIODOS project aims to:

• support 100 automotive workers, 50 in Greece and 50 in Italy, in their transition towards new employment opportunities
• provide each participant with individual skills profiling, skills gap analysis and transition counselling
• support workers to transition into three sectors with documented labor demand: energy efficiency and building renovation, industrial installation & circular economy, and industrial recycling operations
• deliver certified learning paths through micro-credential modules combining digital and in-person learning, linked to specific job profiles
• secure employment placements through signed contracts of at least six months, either full-time or part-time, adapted to individual capacities
• engage at least 60 employers, 30 per country, in skills-based recruitment, onboarding and retention processes, with employer support including training and mentoring
• bring together public authorities, employer associations, training providers and social partners to contribute to the implementation and validation of the project
• disseminate the project results and reach at least 800 stakeholders through dissemination activities and digital platforms.

To achieve these objectives, DIODOS will combine structured skills mapping, certified reskilling, and direct job placement with an integrated skills-first, demand-driven approach. Workers will be supported through tailored training and transition counselling, while employers will participate in skills-based recruitment, onboarding and retention processes. Through this approach, DIODOS will deliver a transferable employment support model combining skills development with verified employment outcomes for automotive workers.
