The goal of the PROTECTWomen project is to prevent psychological violence and coercive control and protect women at-risk, including those under 30, individuals with disabilities or health conditions, non-heterosexuals, and those with migrant backgrounds. This will be achieved by improving the knowledge and skills of social service professionals, increasing availability of effective services, raising public awareness, promoting gender equality and women’s human rights. The project also aims to achieve longer-term outcomes, such as the development of evidence-based policies and practices that respond to the needs of women at-risk.
The project will focus on the development and implementation of a continuous professional development (CPD) program, the co-designing of an awareness-raising campaign, and dissemination activities. Overall, these activities are designed to improve the knowledge and skills of social services professionals, increase public awareness, and promote the development of evidence-based policies and practices that better protect and support women at-risk of psychological violence and coercive control.
