The European MINDFIT- Empowering Minds: Enhancing children’s mental fitness project is moving forward with the creation of a network of Ambassadors, with a focus on Greece, Cyprus, and Italy as the countries where the initiative is implemented. The aim is to highlight the importance of mental well being, psychological resilience, and the healthy development of children and adolescents involved in sports.
The initiative is funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme and is coordinated by CYENS Centre of Excellence (Cyprus). The project partners include GDA Sports και INQUIRY FUSE (Cyprus), Symplexis and the University of Thessaly (Greece), and CESIE (Italy).
The aim of the project is to strengthen the mental fitness of young athletes through the development of research-based educational tools, the creation of policy recommendations, and the implementation of relevant activities and events. At the same time, an innovative multilingual mobile application (MINDFIT app) is being developed, targeting young athletes themselves, as well as parents, coaches, and physical education teachers. All educational materials, the app, and the project activities will be available free of charge.
