ICT4Elders

Promoting ICT knowledge for the elderly people

ICT4Elders aims to bridge the digital divide between generations by enhancing the digital skills and competencies of elderly people. Taking into consideration that, according to Eurostat, two fifths of people aged between 65 and 74 years old have never used even a computer, the project seeks to transform the rapid digital transformation into an opportunity for growth and social inclusion of older adults.

To that end, the main objectives of the ICT4Elders project are:

  • To promote ICT education and lifelong learning of elderly people;
  • To strengthen older adults’ motivation through guided learning in the use of the internet and ICT applications;
  • To offer elders the opportunity for growth and for a better quality of life through active ageing and by being dynamic members of the community;
  • To enhance the skills, knowledge, and competences of elder care givers to better support the access of elders to ICT services and applications and provide them with guidance;
  • To support organisations specialised on elderly issues and nursing homes in providing elders and their families services of high quality.
